In our first insight we look into the newer trends that we have welcomed into our lives!

 


 

With the speed at which technology is growing and evolving, it comes as no surprise that everything  must move at a similarly breakneck pace. Digital marketing is no exception and as Digital Marketing experts it’s our job to grow and evolve in line with technology and the evolving consumer.

 

With constant updates, new techniques, changes to algorithms, digital marketers are frequently scrambling just to keep up, and by god they are scrambling.  Having the knowledge and skills of said trends is paramount in remaining a valuable and efficient service for businesses.

 


Sales Sales Sales

 

Money makes the world go round, right?  Businesses make money from offering a service or selling a product.  With this simple ethos being the backbone of our livelihoods and our economic structure, it’s paramount that business sell stuff to make money.

 

Seems obvious…

However, we see a lot of great products and services that don’t sell because of poor marketing and lots of bad products selling because of good marketing.

This vicious cycle has become more vicious, a combination of more competition and changing technology leaves us with a plethora of options to market ourselves.


Lazy …

Sorry folks, customers are lazy.

 

Once you accept this simple part of human nature, you’ll sell more.  In our genetic make up we are built to be efficient for ourselves and often that manifests itself in laziness.  Sometimes, doing nothing is valuable for our bodies.

 

Think lazy Sunday mornings.

 

 

This ethos is transferred into consumerism.

 

Make it difficult for customers to access the product, information or result they want and guess what, they simply won’t do it!

 

You wouldn’t take the longest journey to get from A to B – it’s that simple.

 


Make Your Choice

 

Make it difficult for customers to turn away from your product – make the only option for them to click on a link to your product or site!

 

In business this is often called traffic and leads.  At the point of sale, this would then become a conversion.

 

With over 72% of social media users, using their social media to buy products and over 4000 users actively searching new and unique products, it’s very important to market this way.

 

Next…

 

91% of people want to see more attractive, interactive, beautiful content.

 

Simply because:

  •  Interactive content is different and new, and as such, it stands out more.
  • This type of content serves to keep visitors on your page longer.
  •  Interactive content is immensely shareable, and when users share this content, it helps to grow awareness of your brand.
  • Simply put, interactive content is more engaging. Users enjoy it more than other content.

 

Lets get personal

 

Also, consumers want to feel special – not the standard marketing copy-writing that has plagued the industry for years.

 

They want your brands personality, not generic advertisements.

 

In a survey of 1,000 people, 90% remarked that they found personalisation appealing.  More important for your business is the fact that 80% admitted they’d be more likely to give their business to a company that offered them a personalised experience.

 

 

Content Is King

 

 

For years, “content is king” has been the axiom of digital marketing. As we move into 2020, it continues to be true.

 

High-quality content allows you to show your expertise and communicate with your customers from a place of authority.  For us at The Valhalla Collective this is the spine of our strategies.  Your content has to be excellent and it has to provide some value to the consumer otherwise it’s pointless.

 

Your content is also what search engines provide to searchers online, so continuing to produce high-quality content is a must.

And, these days SEO No.1 is often not good enough.

 

The top spot in SERP is now position zero, a featured snippet of text appearing above the search results. This prime location often provides information relating to the search query, while also providing a link to the page from which the information is drawn.

Whilst we’ve kept it fairly brief – it was our aim to give an outline of some things to bear in mind for 2020.
